Heritage Hunt Condominium I
Moving In/Out Info, Tips, & Scheduling

Scheduling Move In or Out

Moves are accomplished through the main or front entrance to each condo building. Trucks unload at the curb in front of the condo main entrance. As space is limited and there is only one elevator in each building, moves, in or out, need to be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance by calling Ed Plummer at 703-743-1656 (9AM to 5PM) or by hhci-board@heritagehuntcondos.org. This will help avoid conflicts and allow for the installation of elevator protective pads.

Move In/Out Hours

Moves should be conducted between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM. When the outside temperature is below 60 degrees or above 80 degrees, the unit owner or tenant is responsible for having someone open and close the building doors as necessary for the move so that the building interior does not become excessively hot or cold. Be considerate of the other residents.

Move In Trash

Trash pickup from the condo dumpsters is on Mondays and Thursdays, with no pickup on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day or when Fairfax County Police declare a Snow Emergency. Read Trash and Recycling before your move. The amount and size of trash from any move will overwhelm the trash room. Please put all trash in the open dumpster in the basement trash room of your building and breakdown and flatten all cardboard boxes. If you will have a lot of cardboard boxes to dispose of, break them down and flatten them and then place them neatly on the floor in the corner of the basement trash room. Do not put cardboard down the trash chute; it tends to jam the chute or compactor.

Furniture Delivery

For furniture deliveries that require elevator use, call Ed Plummer at 703-743-1656 or e-mail eplummer@heritagehuntcondos.org at least 72 hours in advance so that elevator pads may be put up.

Registering as a New Resident

Register with the HH HOA: Go to the Front Desk just inside the Club House door (703-743-2000) to register your cars and transponders for the entrance gate. (Note that transponders should be transferred from the previous owner to a new owner or tenant at settlement; the HOA charges for replacement transponders.) They will also take your picture and issue your HH ID card and pool pass. Take your HUD settlement sheet or lease with you.
Register with HHCI: Print out, complete and submit the HHCI Owner/Resident Emergency Contact and Pet Information form as indicated at the bottom of the form.

Using Buildings' Electronic Directory/Call System

Entrance doors on the condo buildings automatically lock. The garage and lobby entrances have electronic locks and can be opened with a pass code or condo key. To use the pass code in Building A, first simultaneously push the star "*" and the zero "0" keys and then enter the pass code. In Building B, just enter the pass code. If a resident doesn't know the pass code, he, or she, should ask a board member.

In each building entrance vestibule there is an electronic directory that allows visitors to call a resident for access to the building. There are instructions on the respective operating panel; the panels in the two buildings differ somewhat in appearance and operation:
Building A -- 13891 Use the "3" & "6" keys to navigate the directory to the name of a resident; PRESS th pound "#" key to call the unit and the star "*" key to cancel a call. The resident can answer and speak with the visitor and then open the lobby door by pushing the Nine "9" key on his/her phone.
Building B -- 13890 Use the "*" or "#" keys to navigate the directory to the name of a resident and the resident's unit number will be displayed. Enter the unit number per panel instructions (Enter unit number) and the phone will ring in the resident's unit. The resident can answer and speak with the visitor and then open the lobby door by pushing the Nine button on his/her phone.

To have your name put in the directory, call the Condo Managing Agent. Note that changing the directory may result in a fee being charged. If the change is associated with a change of unit ownership, the fee is absorbed by the Association. Directory changes un-related to change in condo ownership will result in the charge being passed thru to the unit owner. Therefore, for leased units, the unit owner must make the request to have the lessee's name put into the system.
