HHCI BUDGET & FINANCE COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
March 26, 2009
The meeting convened at 2:30 PM in Unit A105. Present were Bill Goetz, George Field, Steve Verosko, Warren Miller, Kay Franklin, Charles Unger and Ed Plummer.
As minutes for February meeting had not been circulated, approval was deferred until the next meeting.
Warren Miller reported:
A condo II expense was improperly charged to us and he has notified SCS to correct.
Water and sewer rates are up this year and Warren estimates that we have saved $5k this year by having installed the sub-meters. This year we have $20k budgeted for water but based on new rates, Warren anticipates we will hit $24k.
General discussion focused on:
The present CAT Communications monitoring contracts run through September 30. We need to get bid for monitoring from ECFP this year in view of complications we had identifying dialer problem in Building B.
Review for new committee members of electrical use and fact that one meter in Building B is billed at commercial rates due to peak loads. Question came up as to whether SCS can give us any electrical usage history for new condo building for comparison.
We need to develop estimate of how much extra we are paying because Building B C meter is at commercial rates. This would give insight into how much might reasonably be sent for an engineering study and/or electrical work to re-distribute the load and reduce the rates.
It was noted that a bath tub in 203B has led to a water stain on the ceiling of B103.
The meeting adjourned at 4:20 PM.
